A Journey from Victim to Survivor…to Living Freely

Let It Snow

on February 22, 2015

Sunday brought snow…a bit of snow…it had me shoveling at 9am…and again in the afternoon…my driveway, part of the street, sidewalks, a neighbor’s driveway and sidewalk…then part of another neighbor’s driveway.  Manual labor.  I kept on shoveling.  It kept my mind focused.  It felt good to breathe fresh air.  I knew it was putting me over movement plan and didn’t care.  I just kept shoveling.  I needed that time outside.  I even visited with neighbors and played in the snow with my children.  The day brought me good moments, fewer tears and less sensory flashes.  It reminded me that I can have hope…that things will get better…that for all the downs, there will be ups.  I needed that.  It means I can keep fighting to keep my head above water….even as the waves crash.
